Creating Art Gifts: A Budgie Portrait

It’s been a while since I posted any news on the art front. I am making art, but it’s all gifts or commissions at the moment, or wee tutorials to improve techniques. Life has also been pretty busy for us as a family. This means I don’t get huge amounts of time to get into art either. Not excuses though; I am enjoying the projects I have completed. In fact, one has been gifted already, so I can show you. 🙂 It’s a picture of two precious budgies that had to be left behind, when moving country. She was so upset to leave them. However, she now has some art in her new home. She also has a new pet budgie.

I’ve actually been playing with turning this into a repeat wallpaper pattern, ya know, for fun. I went a little old school. I drew it on a piece of paper. Then I cut it up into bits to move around. It’s a fun way to play if you want to stay away from the distraction machine that is the computer. I’ll make sure to show it up here if it ever becomes a passable design.
